Skyler Wiet

Managing Director

Skyler Wiet is Managing Director of SOSRES, whose leadership in sustainability advisory services, including strategic counsel for policy, project development, and research, is creating innovative and cutting edge solutions to the world's most pressing development and environmental issues.  As Managing Director, Skyler is responsible for guiding SOSRES's strategy, business development, project conceptualization, and management and the overall operations of the company.

Skyler has extensive experience in both sustainable development and communications.  Most recently, Skyler worked as Special Advisor to the Korean Ambassador to the United Nations, serving as the primary counsel on sustainable development policy. In addition to negotiating on resolutions and representing Korea’s interests within UN processes in New York, Skyler was responsible for managing the Korean Mission's public affairs program. Skyler has also worked with numerous UN System Organizations including the United Nations Development Programme’s Regional Centre in Bangkok as well as country offices across Asia and the Pacific. His projects have ranged from developing regional communications strategies for climate change initiatives to increasing private sector participation and investment in infrastructure development.

Skyler holds a second-level Master’s degree from the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’ in Public Administration, focusing on Environmental Governance as well as a Master’s in Human Rights Law from the University of Malta. He earned his undergraduate degree in International Development and Communications from the University of Iowa. In addition to his native tongue of English, Skyler also speaks Italian and has a working knowledge of Thai and Spanish.

Brian Thompson

Director, Technical Services

Brian Thompson is a Director of SOSRES, where he is responsible for leading the company's capacity development activities as well as managing its sustainable development projects throughout Asia.  He has a proven track record of excellence in capacity development and project management and has advised clients on sustainable development policy, climate change action, capacity development, and CSR strategies. Since 2002, Brian has worked as a consultant on projects for GTZ, UNESCAP, UNDP, IRG, and the Thai Government.

Prior to SOSRES, Brian was the lead consultant for regional reporting and monitoring for an International Resources Group clean energy project funded by USAID. Brian monitored and reported on all program indicators and deliverables, during a period of rapid programmatic expansion, necessitating the creation of new systems and processes. ECO-Asia facilitated more than $140 million in private investments in clean energy in the six countries in which it operated.  He has authored numerous UN publications on sustainable development and he has significant experience with project management and development.  Brian holds an MA in International Environmental Policy from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and a Bachelor’s from UMass-Amherst in Japanese Language and Literature. He has additional language training from the Defense Language Institute and speaks English, Japanese, Thai, and Spanish.

Dara Khautisen

Director, Business Development
Dara is Director of Business Development SOSRES, where she is responsible for creating and maintaining partnerships and managing projects. Over the years Dara has a solid track record of success with employers and clients improving operations and establishing new practices and methodologies for optimal administrative and research support in the areas of human resources, education and public administration. She has worked with a wide range of clients in the public and private sector in the United States and Thailand.    She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from DePaul University and utilizes her anthropological skills to immerse herself into her love of cultural globalization research. To understand the wants and needs of her clients, she uses ethnographic research to identify potential customer concerns and to uncover patterns in consumer behavior.

Soyoung Chung

Soyoung is Director of Communications Consulting at SOSRES, where she is responsible for managing communications projects. Soyoung has worked with a number of government and intergovernmental institutions, including the United Nations, managing high profile communications projects. Beginning her career in the private sector in public relations, Soyoung has since built her career around public affairs.
